WowHints Alliance Strategy Guide Review
I started off playing WoW as horde, so when I decided to try alliance I also decided that I wanted to get to a high level (at least 50) as soon as possible. It took me weeks to get to level 64 as an Orc, and I didn't want to repeat that same length of time as a Gnome. Since the playing styles were different, I figured that it would make sense to try out a leveling guide.
Initial Impression
The website where you buy the guide from is really nicely done, and it doesn't scream “buy me”. That's a big plus for someone like me- I really hate those long drawn out sales pitches that are little more than the same pitch recycled over and over again. This already gave WowHints a good impression.
The guide itself is laid out well, and everything is so easy to find that I wish that my university textbooks were laid out the same way. I was able to navigate my way through the entire leveling guide without getting lost or confused once. There are links to ThottBot and WowHead for each quest, so I was able to figure out exactly what I was required to do for each and every quest.
Following the Strategy
As I mentioned before, following this strategy is really easy. It even tells you the coordinates of all of the steps, making this guide literally stupid proof.
One comment I would like to make is that it doesn't really mention a lot about player interaction, and though you can do all of the quests mentioned in this guide solo, sometimes it's fun to have a group of people questing along. However, I suppose that would limit how much EXP that you could get since other people would be killing monsters and whatnot too.
The strategy encompasses all aspects of your playing time, so that by the time you hit level 70 you've done just about everything there is to do to that point. This guide shows you how to level as well as gives you the direction that you need to get the most from the game, and that is something that I am quite happy about.
My character progressed along steadily, leveling at the points that the guide said that it would. In fact, the accuracy of this guide is kind of eerie, as the guide would say “level to 35” and sure enough I would level to 35.
Conclusion
This guide is great, and I really enjoyed following it. Not only did I enjoy the fact that I was leveling, but it progressed in a way that was also entertaining to play. I gained a whole ton of levels, and though I took a break from playing WoW a few days ago, I know when I start playing again in a couple of days, that I'll be level 70 very soon thanks to this leveling guide.
